I have managed to get it working fairly painlessly in my Linux Mint install (been working my way up to Gentoo ) using the ath9k_htc-installer_1.0.3.deb and htc_7010.fw & htc_9271.fw firmware files. I thought I'd jump on this thread as I have just purchased the same piece of equipment (my BT Home hub has been installed down the hallway out of reach of my Ethernet cable!) Then use the gentoo handbook in a browser next to a terminal for installing copy and paste. If Ubuntu: Download and make an ubuntu cd of the same bitness as your intended install. When booted to the xfce4 GUI, find the network manager icon in the lower right corner of the desktop and connect. If sysresccd: Select a kernel of the same bitness as your intended install at the sysresccd opening menu. Current system rescue cd or an ubuntu livecd can be used instead of the minimal install. I just saw it and picked it up cause my router is the same brand so. I completely forgot to check support for Linux when shopping. I don't think it is the USB port though I tried connecting it to a different USB port and nothing and the stick is brand new so it must be firmware cause I know netgear don't support Linux. I guess I'll have to install the system and after that usbutils to try it out. I think usbutils doesn't come in the minimal install media. If so the either the adapter or the usb port appears to be dead. I gather you have usbutils installed and the adapter does not show up in lsusb output? You were perfectly clear about the adapter being usb.

I think it is not being recognized by the PC Lspci isn't showing any entry for any network controller other than the ethernet controller of the mobo also all USB listed aren't showing anything connected to them. It doesn't appear it's not recognizing it I guess
Lspci -vv #pls post output for the adapter Is there any there that will work for it?

I know there is no real suppor for it but I read in a few posts that there are a few drivers that work with some netgear cards so I'm wondering if there is any that would work with mine - Netgear WNA1100 (N150 Wireless USB Adapter).īy the way I'm doing a fresh install of gentoo on an old pc I have and thats what I want to use on it so if these is a driver that will work, is it possible to get it working for the installation.
